Thank advertisers for supporting Community

Here is a list of companies that advertised on this week’s episode of Community (may vary based on NBC affiliate, but these were widely reported). Send NBC a friendly (or angry) reminder of how much Community means to you. Let them know that Community is constantly pushing the boundaries of what makes us laugh, what makes us cry, and what makes us shake our heads in bewilderment week after week. Let them know that Community fans are vocal and impassioned. And, most of all, let NBC know that if they roll the dice on canceling Community, they’ll be creating six different timelines…and no one wants that.

NBC recently announced its new midseason schedule—at first glance, pretty good. 30 Rock is back! Whitney is moving to Wednesday nights, where no one will have to see or think about it again! Parks and Recreation and The Office air back-to-back after on Thursdays and….

Wait…where’s Community?

That’s right, NBC is premiering a comedy “based on the outrageous number one best-selling book by Chelsea Handler,” but are putting the most innovative comedy on TV on hiatus.

Now, we know that this doesn’t mean Community is cancelled, and NBC has said as much, but the decision to cut the season short certainly indicates that the show isn’t a priority for the network. Remember Arrested Development…?

Networks can make the decision to drop a show in the blink of an eye, which is why we need to take action now to ensure that NBC brings Community back, and that it is never absent from TV again (at least not before six seasons and a movie). NBC is testing its viewers to see if it can quietly phase out this beloved and critically-acclaimed show. Let’s show them that this isn’t possible.
